Night Film – Marisha Pessl – Review

Night Film by Marisha Pessl

Wow! The most captivating book I’ve read this year! It’s fascinating from the beginning to the very end.

Definitely it is a book that must be put into a movie. It will have so much success and fans.

This is a book I couldn’t let it down. It has so much information to feed the readers, lots of turning points and mysterious situations, also life lessons, secrets, romance, magic moments and suspense.  It’s a story about life and death, fear and love.

I love it so much; even it’s a bit creepy! I also love that I found so many pictures and old documents, and the author let us discover the story step by step in a surprisingly way.

Even if the book has 600 pages, I feel like I want to read more and there are still some secrets to be discovered.

Here are some quotes I like and would love to share:

“… even though adults were tall, what we knew about anything, including ourselves, was small.”

“… the dark was there to reveal the light.”

“A wife sets the ambiance of a man’s life.”

“… many people go for the paranormal when they can’t explain something.”

“… the people who really get you are the ones you can never hold on for very long. And the ones who don’t understand you at all stick around.”

“The bad things that happened to you don’t have to mean anything at all.”

“Every paradise has its viper.”

“For every man there exists bait he cannot resist swallowing.”

“But when you flee someone, no matter how far you roam, that person will follow you as doggedly as the stars. In fact, their grip on you grows even stronger.”

“God, the boring relative everyone ignores – no one calls, no one writes – until they need a serious favor.”

“The truth about what happens to us in this world keeps changing. Always. It never stops. Sometimes not even after death.”

“… to love someone who is dying is torture.”

“… within hate is the motivation to move on, to forget, to vanquish – better that than be gutted by loss, to long for something that can never be.”

“… in the end, protection is just another cage.”

“Mortal fear is as crucial a thing to our lives as love. It cuts to the core of our being and shows us what we are.”

“Our lives are flowers that bloom brightly and then they’re gone.”
